Difference between B.E. and B.S. in engineering
Engineering
The engineering field in education is the process of exploring knowledge in theory, and technical and implementing the concepts practically. After completing schooling, students can opt for any of the courses in engineering with the first degree in undergraduate and continuing with post-graduate programs. The duration of the program is between 3 to 5 years depending on the courses chosen. Practical implementation of the courses can be gained by internship programs that colleges or universities can provide or students can search companies on their own to gain hands-on knowledge.
In India, basic subjects like Science, Mathematics, and technology are explored in schools so that students have a basic awareness of engineering education. In foreign countries, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is part of the school curriculum by this student can have a strong foundation in concepts in engineering.
Graduates who pursue engineering can combine recent technologies in multispecialty areas like science, research, medical devices, security, etc. New products are invented to serve the growth of individuals, society, and the economy of the country. The skills developed by students during their graduation period are more intellectual and this helps them to become better inventors and decision-makers in society.

A few reasons why a student chooses the engineering field are to get better job opportunities, to gain a practical skill set, and logical thinking, and to serve inventions to society, the future world revolves around engineering concepts, career growth, and much more.
B.E
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) is an undergraduate program where students learn about concepts of engineering with practical implementation. This program has a duration of 3 to 5 years and generally, it’s a four-year degree course with eight semesters.
Students are trained in theoretical as well as practical aspects so they gain experience in inventing new applications. In India, top institutions like IIT, MIT, and NIT provide programs to highly qualified students who clear the initial screening process designed by the institutions. But only a few students are selected to pursue in top-ranked colleges and the rest of the students mostly enroll in affiliated universities or autonomous institutions.
After completion of B.E courses, students can extend their studies to post-graduation programs like M.E, MTech, M.S, and Ph.D.
B.S
Bachelor of Science (B.S) is also an engineering degree that is provided by top institutions. B.S. courses offered by universities and private institutions may differ on the syllabus and duration of a subject, evaluation system, etc. This is mostly related to B.E courses but varies on course contents and colleges, which may decide on framing the curriculum based on theoretical or practical subjects.
Foreign universities provide B.S courses so students who are passionate about pursuing a degree abroad can opt for it, with a higher fee structure yet it remains a better option because of career growth and a wide range of opportunities. A consecutive Master's degree (M.S.) is added to the curriculum so the student can complete post-graduation courses without any gap in studies.

Three to four-year undergraduate degree program |
Three years of the program. |
Knowledge |
Provides knowledge of theoretical concepts and more practical sessions |
Most of the concept oriented subjects with fewer practical sessions |
Course fee |
Less when compared to foreign universities. |
The course fee is higher in top institutions and foreign countries. |
Eligibility |
Students who have passed senior schooling can choose bachelor courses of their choice. |
Students who have passed STEM education schooling can apply for B.E and B.S courses. |
Countries offered |
B.E courses are offered in affiliated and autonomous and top-ranked institutions like IIT, NIT, MIT, etc. India and a few countries support B.Eng. courses |
Foreign countries like UK, US, Australia, and Germany provide specialization courses as science degree programs continued with a Master's degree |
Requirements |
School students who have a sound skill set in physics, mathematics, and science are the basic requirements to join B.E or any engineering degree |
When students choose Bachelor of Science -Engineering in the popular US, UK cities then initial screening should be cleared with a few real-time project implementations with language proficiency tests for specific countries. |
Conclusion
As per the discussion above, we know that Engineering courses have gained popularity in education among young minds. When students want to gain intellectual skills in logical thinking, scientific research, automotive inventions, manufacturing their own devices, better career growth with an initial good financial package, and explore technologies around the world then engineering will be the best option. Choosing colleges and courses depends on the student’s interest, the infrastructure of institutions, tie up with industries, and better placements with average to high package.
Few enthusiastic students choose engineering courses abroad to gain a deep understanding of real-world applications and experiment with their innovative ideas. After successful completion of an undergraduate degree in B.E or B.S Eng, these universities provide a Master's Degree as a continuation of an M.S with specialization in technical courses.
Both the courses B.E and B.S in engineering have the same number of courses and completion certifications with minor differences in colleges that offer these courses that provide content related to theoretical or practical approaches.
