News 1 - IBBI constitutes Technical Committee under IBBI (Information Utilities) Regulations 2017
The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) has constituted a Technical Committee in accordance with Regulation 14 of the IBBI (Information Utilities) Regulations, 2017.
The Technical Committee shall include the following members:
- Dr. R. B. Barman ─ Chairperson
- Dr. Nand Lal Sarda ─ Member
- Dr. Pulak Ghosh ─ Member
- Sh. V. G. Kannan ─ Member
The Committee shall give its recommendation for laying down Technical Standards for the performance of core services and other services such as registration of users, risk management framework, data integrity, identification and verification of persons etc.
News 2 - Justice Mudgal elected head of FIFA Governance Committee
Justice (Retd) Mukul Mudgal has been elected as head of FIFA's governance committee at the world football governing body's 67th Congress in Bahrain's capital city of Manama.
Justice Mudgal's name was proposed by the FIFA Council for the vacant position of the governance chief after Miguel Maduro was reportedly 'fired' for his role in blocking Russian World Cup official Vitaly Mutko from retaining his seat on ruling council.
3 - ‘Maa’ committee formulated to check mid-day meal quality in UP schools
On the occasion of Mother’s day, Uttar Pradesh state government formed a committee of six mothers under name ‘Maa’, from all sections of society, whose students are studying in that school to keep an eye on mid-day meals served to students in state-run primary schools.
State government is making all possible efforts to bring improvement in educational sector of the state. Some other changes were also made such as ‘no school bag day’ on Saturdays, change in syllabus etc.
News 4 - Chitale Committee recommended several measures for Desiltation of Ganga
Chitale committee on de-siltation of Ganga has recommended a slew of measures which include study of reach wise sediment transport processes along with establishing annual sediment budgets to guide de-silting activities.
The committee was constituted in July 2016 by the Ministry of Water Resources under the chairmanship of Madhav Chitale, expert member of National Ganga River Basin Authority to prepare guidelines for de-siltation of river Ganga from Bhimgauda in Uttarakhand to Farakka in West Bengal.
