1 - The Singapore Named as Best City to Live for Asian expats – ECA International
Surprisingly for the 14th year in a row, Singapore is named as the most livable city especially for the Asian Expats. To prepare the report, survey was conducted by human resources consultancy (ECA) International. Outside of Asia, cities namely Brisbane and Sydney (located in Australia) jointly secured second rank for the best quality of living for Asian workers.
Lee Quane, the Asian Regional Director for ECA International say –
"Several factors make Singapore the ideal location, such as access to great facilities, low crime rates, good quality healthcare and education, as well as a large expat population already living in Singapore."
What is ECA International?
Founded in 1971, ECA International is an International Human Resource Consulting, Expatriate Management. It provides data on cost of living, salary, accommodation, labour law, tax, benefits and quality of life for international assignees in about 400 locations worldwide.
2 - First State Level Awareness Programme on Agri Export Policy Held in Pune
Pune has hosted the First State Level Awareness Programme on Agriculture Export Policy. The objective was to create awareness among farmers and stakeholders. Suresh Prabhu, the Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, has addressed this programme.
The first State level awareness programme on Agriculture Export Policy was organized on 2nd February, 2019 at Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) in Pune, Maharashtra. Recently, Government of India has released an Agriculture Export Policy with the objective to strengthen the entire value chain from export oriented farm production and processing to transportation, infrastructure and market access.
The Agriculture Export Policy is framed with a focus on:
agriculture export oriented production,
export promotion,
better farm realization, and
synchronization with policies and programmes of Government of India.
3 - World Heritage Centre Set Up at Mayapur, West Bengal
A World Heritage Centre, which is housing ‘spiritual Camps’ of 45 countries, is all set to set up at Mayapur, West Bengal. It is the global headquarters of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) located in Nadia district of West Bengal.
Interestingly, the camp of each country would reflect its dress, lifestyle, culture, food, and ambiance at Mayapur. The estimated cost of 3,000 crores, the Temple of Vedic Planetarium will come up at the first part of the World Heritage Centre, which would have one of the biggest domes in the world.
