CoffeeScript Date - setFullYear()


The setFullYear() method sets the full year for a specified date according to local time.


Given below is the syntax of setFullYear() method.

Date.setFullYear(yearValue[, monthValue[, dayValue]])


The following example demonstrates the usage of the setFullYear() method in CoffeeScript. Save this code in a file with name

dt = new Date "Aug 28, 2008 23:30:00"
dt.setFullYear 2014
console.log dt

Open the command prompt and compile the .coffee file as shown below.

c:\> coffee -c

On compiling, it gives you the following JavaScript.

// Generated by CoffeeScript 1.10.0
(function() {
  var dt;

  dt = new Date("Aug 28, 2008 23:30:00");




Now, open the command prompt again, and run the CoffeeScript file as shown below.

c:\> coffee

On executing, the CoffeeScript file produces the following output.

Thu Aug 28 2014 23:30:00 GMT+0530 (India Standard Time)
