CoffeeScript Date - getSeconds()

Description

The getSeconds() method returns the seconds in the specified date according to local time. The value returned by getSeconds() is an integer between 0 and 59.

Example

The following example demonstrates the usage of the getSeconds() method in CoffeeScript. Save this code in a file with name date_getseconds.coffee.

dt = new Date "February 19, 2016 23:15:25:22"
console.log "The seconds in the specified date is : " + dt.getSeconds()

Open the command prompt and compile the .coffee file as shown below.

c:\> coffee -c date_ getseconds.coffee

On compiling, it gives you the following JavaScript.

// Generated by CoffeeScript 1.10.0
(function() {
  var dt;

  dt = new Date("February 19, 2016 23:15:25:22");

  console.log("The seconds in the specified date is : " + dt.getSeconds());

}).call(this);

Now, open the command prompt again, and run the CoffeeScript file as shown below.

c:\> coffee date_ getseconds.coffee

On executing, the CoffeeScript file produces the following output.

The seconds in the specified date is : 25
