Course Description
Learn how to get into web development.
In this class, we're going to explore what web development is and how exactly to get into web development as a hobby or career. If you're brand new to coding, software development or web development, this is where you should start as this is the perfect introduction into web development course.
We'll tackle commons myths about web development and common questions people have, such as:
- Am I too old to get into web development?
- Do I need to be a genius to start coding?
- Do I need a university or college degree?
- Is it expensive to get into web development? And,
- Is it hard to get into coding/web development?
Then we'll take a look at tools of the trade, and get set up with programs we need to get started right away. We'll also explore what it takes to break into the industry and become a web developer.
If you're brand new to coding, or you're thinking about maybe getting into web development/coding as a career or hobby, this course should be your very first step.
Along the way, I'll explain the terminology and common words we use in the industry. And then we'll dive into open source and what it is, why it's important and what companies are looking for in open source contributions.
Lastly, we'll create a very simple HTML web page as your final project and I'll show you how you can get into web development in as little as 10 minutes.
