Python Pandas - Return a new Timedelta with daily ceiling resolution

PythonPandasServer Side ProgrammingProgramming

To return a new Timedelta ceiled to this resolution, use the timedelta.ceil() method. For daily ceiling resolution, set the freq parameter to the value D.

At first, import the required libraries −

import pandas as pd

TimeDeltas is Python’s standard datetime library uses a different representation timedelta’s. Create a Timedelta object

timedelta = pd.Timedelta('6 days 1 min 30 s')

Display the Timedelta

print("Timedelta...
", timedelta)

Return the ceiled Timestamp with daily ceiling resolution

timedelta.ceil(freq='D')

Example

Following is the code

import pandas as pd

# TimeDeltas is Python’s standard datetime library uses a different representation timedelta’s
# create a Timedelta object
timedelta = pd.Timedelta('6 days 1 min 30 s')

# display the Timedelta
print("Timedelta...
", timedelta) # return the ceiled Timestamp # with daily ceiling resolution res = timedelta.ceil(freq='D') # display the ceiled Timestamp print("
Timedelta (daily ceiled)...
", res)

Output

This will produce the following code
