Life after 31st march 2017 for jio subscribers jio prime
With the commercial launch of Reliance Jio services on September 5, 2016, the telecom operator introduced ‘Welcome Offer’ with free voice and data (with a cap of 4GB data per day) services on the Jio SIM up to December 31, 2016. The company extended the ‘Welcome Offer’ by another three months till March 31, 2017 by relaunching it as the ‘Happy New Year Offer.’
Welcome Offer’ also offered free voice calls, video calling, messaging and data, but with a data limit of 1GB per day. Reliance Jio claimed to be the fastest growing technology company in the world, and had close to 52 million subscribers in the beginning of December 2016, which is huge considering the service was rolled out in September.
Jio announced at the end of Feb 2017, that they have reached 100 million Jio subscribers, reaching this milestone took them just around 170 days. This is the fastest growth achieved by any tech company in the world including the likes of Facebook, WhatsApp, and Skype. A Jio SIM today resides in the SIM slot of a majority of 4G smartphones in India.
What is Jio Prime?
To keep most of its 100 million subscribers after 31st March 2017, the company has come up with the Jio prime offer.
Reliance Jio has introduced a new prime membership plan for a year at Rs 99. You have to subscribe to the Jio Prime Membership and then you can recharge with Rs 303 Jio pack every month to enjoy 1 GB data daily.
Calls and SMS are completely free for lifetime.
Jio Prime is a membership for customers who have joined Jio before 31st March 2017. You can enrol for Jio Prime at a one-time annual membership fees of Rs 99 from 1st to 31st March 2017.
Jio Prime brings a host of benefits with it.
It gives you the opportunity to avail unlimited benefits of free voice (Local, STD, Roaming, to any operator, anywhere in India), data and SMS that you have been currently using till 31st March 2018 for a nominal charge of Rs 303 per month(INR 10 per day). You could also choose to enhance your benefits at nominal incremental fees.
You get complimentary benefit of Jio’s premium content bouquet worth Rs 10,000 for an entire year.

How to Enroll for Jio Prime?
Recharge with Rs. 99 Jio Prime membership before 31st March 2017 from MyJio, JioMoney, Jio.com or nearest retailer.
You can opt for Jio Prime only before 31st March, 2017.
What is the offer for New Users?
All customers who join Jio before 3rd March, 2017 under the Jio Happy New Year Offer can continue to enjoy free benefits until 31st March, 2017. New customers who join from 4th March, 2017 can get unlimited benefits till 31st March,2017 by simply opting for the Jio Prime @ Rs. 99 one-time membership fees. This is an additional benefit for Jio Prime members only.
What is the benefit for being a part of Jio Prime?
The benefits of Jio Prime are manifold and will be available for 1 full year. The first fabulous offer that Jio has announced is that: You can continue your unlimited benefit for 12 months by paying a nominal amount of Rs. 303 per month. There are more announcements coming up. How many plans are available in Jio Prime from April, 2017?
Currently, Jio has 9 tariff plans to choose from. In addition to its offer of FREE VOICE (domestic)
on its network – No Local, STD, Roaming charges, to any operator, anywhere in the country, Jio’s tariff plans range from INR 19 to INR 9,999 depending on your preference. Rs. 303 plan allows you to continue your unlimited benefits with a validity period of 28 days and therefore we would recommend you to recharge with Rs. 303 plan.
To double your data entitlement, spending less than Rs. 200 extra per month, you can opt for the Rs. 499 plan. Jio announced that its tariff plans will become applicable from 1 April 2017.
For a Jio prime member, is it necessary to recharge with 303 plan every month?
No, it’s completely up to you when you want the service. Whenever you want to enjoy free services, recharge with any of the Jio Prime plans
- Rs 149 plan gives 2 GB data monthly with a validity period of 30 days
- Rs 303 plan gives 1 GB data daily with a validity period of 30 days
- Rs 499 plan gives 2 GB data daily with a validity period of 30 days
- JIO 4G tariff plans are much cheaper than any other telecom offers for 4G services.
What if one does not Subscribe to Jio prime Membership?
If you don’t subscribe to Jio Prime, you can still use Jio sims with any of the Jio 4G plans listed on the site.
For those Jio Prime members who do not recharge with any plan. What will happen after 31st March?
Post 31st March, 2017, if you have not recharged with any plan, your services will stop. You will be able to get incoming voice calls and SMS for certain period. In order to continue enjoying extreme value and unlimited usage, please recharge with Rs. 303 pack.

What happens if monthly recharge is not done?
If you do not recharge after the validity of your existing recharge is over, you will only be able to receive incoming calls and messages. If you do not do any recharges in 90 days, your number might get disconnected.
How to get Jio Prime Membership Free?
However, if you recharge through the Jio Money wallet, you can get the Jio Prime membership for free.
As it is pointed out, this workaround, allows users to attain up to Rs. 100 recharge if a subscriber recharges through the Jio Money Wallet app. To get the Prime subscription fee waived off, download the Jio Money Wallet app, register on it, and create a four-digit m-pin for safety. Once the registration process is over, recharge Rs. 99 for the Prime membership plan, and you will be awarded a Rs. 50 cashback as part of their introductory offer. Jio Money is also offering further Rs. 50 cashback on all recharges above Rs. 303, and hence recharging for your first month right away will give you further Rs. 50 cashback.
All in all you will receive Rs. 100 cashback, which is equivalent to the Prime subscription rate. It is important to note that the cashback will be refunded in two working days as Jio vouchers in the Jio Money app itself.
The last date for getting a Prime subscription is March 31, after which you may have to pay more for the same plan. Paytm is offering Rs. 10 cashback on joining the Rs. 99 Jio Prime plan through the app. This offer is available for all users using the promo code JioPrime. The Rs. 303 plan, which offers Prime customers on prepaid 28GB of high-speed data for 28 days with FUP of 1GB per day, will get you Rs. 30 off (for up to 2 recharges) via the app using the promo code PrimeJio. Additional benefits on recharging Rs. 303 via the app include up to Rs. 150 cashback on purchase of two movie tickets and free Jio add-on pack worth Rs. 201.
