How to use continue in a method?
Solution
This example uses continue statement to jump out of a loop in a method.
public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { StringBuffer searchstr = new StringBuffer( "hello how are you. "); int length = searchstr.length(); int count = 0; for (int i = 0; i < length; i++) { if (searchstr.charAt(i) != 'h')continue; count++; searchstr.setCharAt(i, 'h'); } System.out.println("Found " + count + " h's in the string."); System.out.println(searchstr); } }
Result
The above code sample will produce the following result.
Found 2 h's in the string. hello how are you.
The following is an another example of Continue method
public class ContinueExample { public static void main(String[] args) { for(int i = 1; i <= 10; i++) { if(i == 5) { continue; } System.out.println(i); } } }
The above code sample will produce the following result.
