Course Description

Financial analysis is very crucial for the success and progress of every business.

Accountants, managers, investors, and other stakeholders with varying interests, must know the state of the performance and position of the said business in a previous period, to pick up strengths to replicate, or identify shortcomings, and deduce causes to draw lessons to prevent its recurrence.

We will use various accounting and business ratios to assess this objective.

We will be discussing profitability ratios. Here, information will be picked from the profit or loss to make necessary deductions for an informed decision.

We will move on to tackle liquidity ratios. This draws information from the current asset and current liability sessions of the balance sheet to make its analysis. The aim is to determine if the business’ short-term resources will be able to settle its short-term obligations.

This course will also teach how to run an assessment to determine if the outcome of assets invested into a business or a project is favourable or otherwise.

We will move on to discuss how investors can determine if the returns, be it interest and or dividend is worth their investing actions.

We will also discuss how to determine if a business is appropriately funded, by analyzing the types and amounts contributed to its operation.

This course is appropriate and essential for students, accountants, managers, entrepreneurs, and parties with interests in any business venture.
