This course talks about the importance of design documentation practices and skills required for a designer. Also just teachers about the various aspects how to document indigenous practice or craft which is actually dying or getting extinct and and how do you documented properly and reported in order to create an awareness. Talks about many research methodologies how you extract primary and secondary information for the process and make a detailed documentation. Using photos and videos how do you communicate the social economic status of people livelihood food shelter habitats education etc through a report of documentation.

  1. Students can learn in-depth knowledge of the design documentation process and how to use pictures, videos and detail takes to make a report.
  2. How to choose indigenous topics based on the qualification of a craft or dying practice which people do, I have also shown my mistakes and learned how I choose the wrong craft then I change the topic to work on it.
  3. Application of IDEO design thinking principles like ask, listen, speak, observe and how do you take primary and secondary information from the people's understanding of this craft and its association.
  4. Many farming practices including nursery gardens set up how to grow Forest, how to do nurturing in water and keep the whole set up clean and maintained in order to create a forest ecosystem which is actually called Permaculture has been shown in pictures and documented with details.
  5. A one Man Revolution which created this kind of a big forest system and how the next generation can get inspiration from him is also being document
  6. How the process has been detailed documented for the craft making starting from cutting textiles, stitching,ornamentation and how it is finally being sold in the market step-by-step with pictures and videos explained through words.
  7. To mingle and empathise with the people to know about their social economic status their great grandfathers and their generations before how did they settled in this geography what is their job status what do they do for living and what is their education situation what is your goals and dreams in life and how are you seeing your future. When you are documenting your indigenous practices this much of detail should be covered in depth to get a complete insight of the community and people and geography around it.
  8. This process of what we documented is t called “Horse making Dolls” , and how it is being for the people and it is being sold to shops.
  9. How are the opportunities that this could be taken up to a commercialisation level and this could be sold in the market and entire livelihood of the people could be changed via this opportunity has been discussed in detail.
  10. Giving details of credit for the people putting proper pictures and giving an acknowledgement preface introduction conclusion this is all needed for documentation skills being a designer it's a mandatory skill to learn about these technicalities and apply it in your design documentation practices.
