Course Description
Upon completion of the academy, participants will be able to:
Complete Overview of all High Voltage components involved in an electric or hybrid Vehicle.
Cradle-to-grave of an automotive OEM to understand the effect of electric vehicle on the carbon footprint.
Describe the main hybrid and electric vehicle development considerations and performance requirements for various vehicle system
Apply the operation of brushless dc and induction motors to HEV and EV vehicles
Define the torque speed curves for motors and the application to electric and hybrid electric vehicles
Define and analyze battery operation and performance requirements for HEV, PHEV, EREV and full electric vehicle applications
Estimate the size of a cell to meet a specific requirement
Describe the functions performed by a Battery Management System (BMS)
Understand different thermal management methodologies applied for the battery pack systems and their challenges
Explain different approaches to estimating state of charge, state of health, power and energy
Compare and contrast the various industry and regulatory standards for hybrid vehicle components, batteries, and charging systems
Identify how to define key vehicle system requirements and select and size system components that best meet those requirements
Understand various testing and regulatory requirements for electric vehicle and components at both system and subsystem level.
Understand the challenges in meeting the safety regulations at international level.
Understand the drawbacks of current testing procedures applied by the international testing agencies for electric and hybrid vehicles.

Mr. Prasanthkumar Palani Chief Technical Consultant Haritha TechLogix
Mr. Prasanthkumar Palani is the Head of electric vehicle homologation team of Haritha Techlogix, Coimbatore.
He is a Master’s graduate in Vehicle Engineering and Transport Management from Central Institute of Road Transport, Pune. Currently he is responsible for the electric vehicle and component level homologation assignments.
Prior to this he led the Design and Development team of Jascon Energy Pvt Ltd building electric vehicles and lithium battery packs for Automotive and Non automotive applications.
Mr. Prasanthkumar has also worked as a Mechanical design engineer at Mercedez Benz Research and Development India Ltd, Bengaluru in the area of Automatic Transmission and Drivetrain Design
He received his spark in automotive electronics with his association with Devise electronics Pvt Ltd, Pune in his initial point of his career.
He holds various certifications in the area of electric mobility from many Indian and international organizations like Denso, TUV SUD, SAE, ARAI etc.,
Apart from his works, he is also very closely working with skill development initiatives in association with Indian skill development organizations like ASDC and TSDC. He also serves as an active member of the Electric Vehicle Expert Group of ASDC, New Delhi.
Till date, he has trained 1500+ engineering students, faculties and Industry professionals in various automotive verticals in both Online and Offline modes.
