This course will explain , how we can we enhance SAP login screen, to implement a 2 Factor Authentication, i.e after entering the user id and password on initial SAP login screen, system will required one more authentication to proceed further.
What is 2FA ?
A2 factor authentication or 2FA is An extra layer of security Most people only have one layer – their password – to protect their account. With 2-Step Verification, if a bad guy hacks through your password layer, he'll still need your phone or Security Key to get into your account.
Sign in will require something you know and something you have
With 2-Step Verification, you'll protect your account with something you know (your password) and something you have (your phone or Security Key).
The most popular form of two-factor authentication (and a preferred alternative to SMS and voice) uses a software-generated time-
based, one-time passcode (also called TOTP, or “soft-token”).
First, a user must download and install a free 2FA app on their smartphone or desktop. They can then use the app with any site that supports this type of authentication. At sign-in, the user first enters a username and password, and then, when prompted, they enter the code shown on the app
