Note

  • The Preliminary Examination (PT) consists of one paper (only) that carries 200 marks total.

  • The Preliminary Examination is of Objective Type (having multiple choice questions) and it carries 150 (objective type) questions.

  • All questions are of equal marks.

  • There will be negative marking and 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

  • Only PT qualifying candidates are allowed for the Main Exam.

  • The written examination consists of four papers.

  • Marks obtained in PT are just qualifying and hence no role in final selection or ranking.

  • Marks obtained in rest four papers (from Paper I to Paper IV of written exam) and in interview play major role in the final selection or ranking.
