Making use of the cube root table, find the cubes root of the following (correct to three decimal places)
8.6

AcademicMathematicsNCERTClass 8

Given:

8.6

To find:

We have to find the cube root of the given number correct to three decimal places using cube root table.

Solution:

$\sqrt[3]{8}=2.000$

$\sqrt[3]{9}=2.080$

$8.6=8+0.6$

For the difference $(9-8)=1$,

The difference in the values $=2.080-2.000$

$=0.080$

This implies,

For the difference of $0.6$,

The difference in the values $=0.080 \times 0.6$

$=0.048$

Therefore,

$\sqrt[3]{8.6}=2.000+0.048$

$=2.048$
