Difference between Mega and SecureSafe

Mega

MEGA is a cloud-based service that can be accessed from any device or platform with Internet access. It is mainly designed for browser-based applications. Also, it prepares the mobile applications for Windows, Android mobile phones, and Apple phones. MEGA was created on January 20, 2013, exactly one year after the US government infamously destroyed Megaupload.

It was formed by Kim Dotcom, Mathias Ortmann, and Bram van der Kolk, the same guys who founded Megaupload. Dotcom excelled at marketing and fundraising despite not being engaged in MEGA's design or technical execution. He sold most of his shares and stood down as a Director within a year to pursue new interests.

  • MEGA is one of the safest clouds available since it uses 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) key derived from your password to encrypt and decrypt your files and folders. This means that when a user uploads a file, only the user, not Mega's servers, may decrypt the data. It also contains a security feature that requires two-factor verification, making it safer to use.

  • MEGA offers 15 GB of permanent free storage and up to 50 GB of storage space including 35 GB of temporary storage to its users. They also provide users with features such as file sharing, file versioning, and secured shared links that open with a key.

  • MEGA also offers their applications across all platforms and has a maximum storage space of 16 TB.

  • Clients are also provided with annual transparency reports.

You can easily store all your private data to MEGA because the client-side end-to-end encoding ensures the privacy of all the files.

SecureSafe

SecureSafe is a cloud storage and file hosting service provider. For online association, it gives password safe, document cache, and digital spaces. It was introduced based on the fundamental of reliability by design and privacy by design. Swiss AG introduced it in 2009. It gives 100 MB of free storage space. It gives maximum storage space of up to 100 GB.

This service is quite different because of its powerful double encryption, triple data storage and zero-knowledge planning, making sure that you will get the high level of security.
