CSS Function - matrix3d()
The CSS function matrix3d() is similar to the matrix() function, but specifies a 3D transformation represented by a homogeneous 4x4 matrix, resulting in a data type of <transform-matrix>.
Possible values
a1 b1 c1 d1 a2 b2 c2 d2 a3 b3 c3 d3 - These are <number>s describing the linear transformation.
a4 b4 c4 d4 - These are <number>s describing the translation to apply.
Syntax
The matrix3d() function is defined with 16 values described in column-major order.
matrix3d(a1, b1, c1, d1, a2, b2, c2, d2, a3, b3, c3, d3, a4, b4, c4, d4)
Each parameter (a1 through d4) corresponds to a specific value in the 4x4 matrix, representing a 3D transformation.
ai (where i is the row number and ranges from 1 to 4): Represents the elements in the ith row of the matrix.
bi (where i is the row number and ranges from 1 to 4): Represents the elements in the ith row of the matrix.
ci (where i is the row number and ranges from 1 to 4): Represents the elements in the ith row of the matrix.
di (where i is the row number and ranges from 1 to 4): Represents the elements in the ith row of the matrix.
CSS matrix3d() - Basic example

CSS matrix3d() - 3d Cube
The example demonstrates a 3d cube made from DOM elements and transformations. It can be interactively transformed using matrix3d() when hovered or focused.
