Description
The figure element specifies the content along with related images with an optional caption. The .figure-caption class provides caption for the figure element.
The following example demonstrates usage of figure element −
Example
<html lang = "en"> <head> <!-- Meta tags --> <meta charset = "utf-8"> <meta name = "viewport" content = "width = device-width, initial-scale = 1, shrink-to-fit = no"> <!-- Bootstrap CSS --> <link rel = "stylesheet" href = "https://stackpath.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.1.3/css/bootstrap.min.css" integrity = "sha384-MCw98/SFnGE8fJT3GXwEOngsV7Zt27NXFoaoApmYm81iuXoPkFOJwJ8ERdknLPMO" crossorigin = "anonymous"> <title>Bootstrap 4 Example</title> </head> <body> <div class = "container"> <h2>Figure Element</h2> <figure class = "figure"> <img src = "https://www.tutorialspoint.com/bootstrap/images/64.jpg" class = "figure-img img-fluid rounded" alt = "Figure Element" height = "200" width = "200"> <figcaption class = "figure-caption">This is an image caption</figcaption> </figure> </div> <!-- jQuery first, then Popper.js, then Bootstrap JS --> <script src = "https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.3.1.slim.min.js" integrity = "sha384-q8i/X+965DzO0rT7abK41JStQIAqVgRVzpbzo5smXKp4YfRvH+8abtTE1Pi6jizo" crossorigin = "anonymous"> </script> <script src = "https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/popper.js/1.14.3/umd/popper.min.js" integrity = "sha384-ZMP7rVo3mIykV+2+9J3UJ46jBk0WLaUAdn689aCwoqbBJiSnjAK/l8WvCWPIPm49" crossorigin = "anonymous"> </script> <script src = "https://stackpath.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.1.3/js/bootstrap.min.js" integrity = "sha384-ChfqqxuZUCnJSK3+MXmPNIyE6ZbWh2IMqE241rYiqJxyMiZ6OW/JmZQ5stwEULTy" crossorigin = "anonymous"> </script> </body> </html>
It will produce the following result −
Output
You can use the .img-fluid class to your <img> tag to make it responsive.

The following example demonstrates placing of figure caption by using text utility −
Example
