Remove only the percentage sign from values in a MySQL table?

Let us first create a table −

mysql> create table DemoTable828(
   CustomerName varchar(100),
   InterestRate varchar(100)
);
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.50 sec)

Insert some records in the table using insert command −

mysql> insert into DemoTable828 values('Chris','10%');
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.60 sec)
mysql> insert into DemoTable828 values('Robert','11.5%');
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.11 sec)
mysql> insert into DemoTable828 values('David','15.90%');
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.22 sec)
mysql> insert into DemoTable828 values('Bob','20%');
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.16 sec)

Display all records from the table using select statement −

mysql> select *from DemoTable828;

This will produce the following output −

Following is the query to remove percentage sign from values in MySQL table −

mysql> update DemoTable828 set InterestRate=replace(InterestRate,'%','');
Query OK, 4 rows affected (0.18 sec)
Rows matched: 4 Changed: 4 Warnings: 0

Let us check the table records once again −

mysql> select *from DemoTable828;

This will produce the following output −
