What MySQL returns if the argument of QUOTE() function is NULL?

MySQL returns NULL if the argument of QUOTE() function is NULL.

Example

mysql> Select QUOTE(NULL);

mysql> Select Name, QUOTE(NULL) from student where id = 1;
