Soluble pairs

  • Honey – water
  • Glucose – water
  • Mustard oil – groundnut oil

Insoluble pairs

  • Turmeric – water
  • Mustard oil-water
  • Rice flour – water

[Extra information:  Soluble Substances means capable of dissolving in a solvent, these are those substances that dissolve to a significant extent in a solvent without how much actually will dissolve. Polar substances are soluble in polar solvents but not in non-polar solvents. The separation of soluble components in a mixture is not easier than separating insoluble components.

Example- salt and sugar in water.

Insoluble Substances means incapable of dissolving in a solvent, these are those substances that don’t dissolve to a significant extent in a solvent. The non-polar solute will not be soluble in a polar solvent. The separation of insoluble components in a mixture is easier.

Example- sand and wood in water.]
