Write various steps for processing fibres into wool.

The various steps for processing fibres into wool are:
  1. Shearing – The removal of wool or fleece from a sheep or other wool yielding animal is called shearing. It can be done manually with a large razor or with a shearing machine.
  2. Scouring – The sheared hair is moved through tubs filled with soapy water to remove dust, dirt and grease. This is known as scouring. It is then passed through a series of rollers and dryers.
  3. Sorting – Sorting consists of separating the hair of different textures.
  4. Removing burr – Burrs are soft fluffy fibres in wool. These are removed manually.
  5. Carding – During the process of carding, the clean selected wool fibres are passed through rollers that have thin wired teeth The teeth untangle the fibres and arrange them into a flat sheet called a web. The web is then formed into narrow untwisted fibres known as slivers.
  6. Dyeing – The natural hair of sheep is white, brown or black. It is dyed into different colours.
  7. Spinning – The fibres are straightened, combed and rolled into yarn. The process is called spinning.
