Why is the Oscar winner Hollywood actor Toby Maguire out of limelight since long?
Tobey Maguire, a star who was a part of an Oscar-winning movie as well as a huge franchise for years, has been the A-list star till last a few year, but god knows why, one of my favorite Hollywood heroes, is away from the limelight. When I did some research, I came across some harsh realities regarding him.
Spider-Man 3 Failed Miserably
Tobey was at all new zenith after the first two films of the highly buzzed franchise and he as well as the whole franchise had a great expectation from its third instalment, Spider-Man 3. However, when this film rolled into theatres in 2007, it could not create the same magic done by its predecessors- Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. Thus, its failure fell drastically on the makers, but making a better movie was like almost impossible at that time.
Raimi Add Oil to the Fire
After the failure of the third instalment, Raimi wanted to correct all his follies by bringing out its fourth one. However, before he could come up with the scrip, Sony, who was sponsoring it, scrapped the whole project. It is said, it was Raimi who could not come up with the script on time; consequently, Sony, whose money was at high stake, had to step back. Sony pursued a reboot, which inevitably turned out to be as The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012 starring Andrew Garfield.
Paid for His Charm
Until this time, Tobey was pushing 35, but his boyish look and rather softer voice were still a barricade for him and the audience failed to connect with the more mature roles he was taking up.
Inclined Towards Production
After not finding a way out to his dilemma of still working for movies and wait for roles that can fetch him the faded limelight, he took up production and did some movies named The 5th Wave, 25th Hour, Pawn Sacrifice, and so on, but as it is rightly said, ‘Fame is like a bee, it has a son, it has a sting. Ah, too, it has a wing.
