Types and Roles of BDSM
BDSM may be a new concept to some couples, but it has enormous popularity worldwide. Couples are always searching for new ways to make their lovemaking more pleasurable. All need to understand the types of BDSM before they start practicing.
Bondage Roleplaying − Bondage is the prime sexual activity where one partner is retrained using specific materials. Ropes, bondage ribbons, ball gags, and handcuffs are available to play this activity. It restricts the movement and freedom of the bondage partner. The other partner entirely controls the situation and enhances the sexual stimulation.
Master-slave − This activity also can be denoted as dominant and submissive. Here one partner takes charge of the other and controls the action. Here the dominant partner orders the submissive in different sexual activities. The role between the submissive and dominant can change as per the partners' consent.
Discipline − The next type of BDSM is discipline. Here the dominant partners will set the rules the submissive partner will follow. These rules can be related to sexual activities like having oral sex at a fixed time. If the submissive partner fails to perform the instructions, the dominant partner will punish the submissive. These punishments can include imposing pain or concealment of pleasure etc. Research shows that both partners enjoy this sexual activity.
Sadomasochism −Individuals curious to know more about different types of BDSM should learn about sadomasochism. Here the sexual partners are involved in such a sexual activity where they enjoy sexual pleasure via inflicting pain. The partners who impose the pain and enjoy it are known as sadists.
Again, the partners who are receiving the pain are known as masochists. The instruments used to inflict pain are paddles, whips, electric stimulation, and clamps. Partners also enjoy this erotic sexual activity through humiliation and entire submission.
Before the partners involve in BDSM, they need to understand some essential points.
The roles between the partners are interchangeable depending on the sexual orientation.
There are no hard and fast rules between the partners while performing this sexual activity.
The performance between the partners must be done under mutual consent. The entire activities depend on the sexual partners of both partners.
The rules and roles entirely depend on the exchange of power and not relating to surrendering power.
Safety Rules to Follow
No doubt, BDSM is a different type of sexual activity that can offer the utmost pleasure to sexual partners. However, partners need to consider necessary safety measures before playing this activity.
Mutual consent − The lovebirds must establish mutual consent before playing BDSM. The partners must agree between them relating the bondage or restraint rules.
Use of safe words − The partners must agree on words that can easily be remembered. Any of the partners can use these words as safety measures. If someone uses the words like "no" or "Stop," these can be considered part of this activity. Besides safe words, partners can agree on signals that can be used whenever partners face any problem.
Comfortable instruments − BDSM is played using different types of instruments. Sometimes partners like to use specific props than using a blindfold. Here it is necessary to understand how to use these props safely. Even if you are using simple ropes, it is essential to know how to tie them safely. Here it is suggested to keep scissors nearby to free your partner immediately from any uncomfortable situation.
Do your body support − Partners must have complete knowledge about their bodies and how much pain they can tolerate. A little pain is pleasurable, but excess can be vulnerable to your body. Here you need to understand the body parts are more susceptible and can suffer from tissue damage. Couples should get involved in BDSM knowing the above factors.
Establish Limitations − The couples need to set boundaries before the activity so that no one can cross the limit and create unwanted situations. Proper planning – Couples must set a plan before playing BDSM. They should fix a time for it and not involve overdoing or crossing the rules.
Finally, as per experts, BDSM should be played depending on the partners' trust. Couples can enjoy this sexual energy using effective rules and safety measures.
