What are the interesting facts of the Star Wars theme parks?

Disney is planning a pleasant surprise for all the worldwide Star Wars fans with its two new projects. Galaxy’s Edge is the Star Wars themed area, which is being developed at two places each in 14 acres of land.

  • Disneyland park at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Bay Lake, Florida

These two places where Disneyland is being built, replacing Big Thunder Ranch and Disney’s Hollywood studios, replacing The Streets of America respectively, are going to woo the public from all over the world, very soon.

Disney parks have recently released a drone video on this much-awaited project that shows many of the Californian park’s landscapes and architectural elements, mountain spires, towers, domes etc. “This 14-acre land will be called Galaxy’s Edge, set on a new planet called Batuu on the outer rim of the galaxy,” says the Disney Imagineers.

Among the two places, it is expected that Walt Disney World in Bay Lake, will be opening first. Walt Disney Imagineering executive Scott Trowbridge is supervising the development of this project at both of these places.

Disney CEO Bob Iger said that the Star Wars parks will contain all the inhabitants like humanoids, aliens and droids, the attractions, entertainment, and everything. Bob Chapek, the chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, stated, “the land will introduce you to a Star Wars planet you have never seen before – a gateway planet located at the outer rim, full of places and characters familiar and not so familiar”.

Scott Trowbridge stated that their intention is to make the people feel as they just walked into one of those Star Wars movies. This would bring the Star Wars World into real life for them and be engaging their senses like knowing what does the street feels like, what does that animal smells like and what does blue milk tastes like etc.

It was in February 2017 that Iger stated that the lands are scheduled to open in 2019 at both Disneyland and Hollywood studios.
