Manushi Chillar, the Miss World 2017 is the sixth Indian lady to win the crown. She hails from Haryana and is a student of Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women at Sonepat, Haryana. Her father Dr. Mitra Basu Chillar is a scientist at DRDO while mother Dr. Neelam Chillar is the head of the department of Neuro-Chemistry at the Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences.
Manushi Chillar is a Kuchipudi dancer, a member of National School of Drama, enjoys swimming, interested in poetry and likes painting too. She is a confident individual as well as a great orator. She was crowned as Miss photogenic in Femina Miss India competition.
Manushi is as beautiful at heart as she looks. She promoted menstrual hygiene in 20 villages on a project. Her initiative was called Project Shakti. She has great concern over mothers as she says that a mother is the one who deserves high respect and love. Her words gained a huge fan base and impressed the judges of the panel. Her answers to some questions reveal her concern towards the inconsistency of global health, where she emphasizes the need to make the medical facilities reach to everyone in the world.
