When two identical bullets are fired one by a light rifle and the other by a heavy rifle with the same force. Here, for a light rifle, the recoil velocity will be larger than the recoil velocity of the heavy rifle.  Therefore due to more recoil velocity, the light rifle will hurt the shoulder more.
