The number of girl students in each class of a co-educational middle school is depicted by the pictograph :
Observe this pictograph and answer the following questions:

(a) Which class has the minimum number of girl students?
(b) Is the number of girls in Class VI less than the number of girls in Class V?
(c) How many girls are there in Class VII?"

To do:

We have to observe the pictograph and answer the given questions.

Solution:

From the given pictograph we can observe that

Number of girls in class I $=6\times4=24$

Number of girls in class II $=4.5\times4=18$

Number of girls in class III $=5\times4=20$

Number of girls in class IV $=3.5\times4=14$

Number of girls in class V $=2.5\times4=10$

Number of girls in class VI $=4\times4=16$

Number of girls in class VII $=3\times4=12$

Number of girls in class VIII $=1.5\times4=6$

Therefore,

(a) The minimum number of girl students is in Class VIII.

(b) Class V has 10 girl students

Class VI has 16 girl students.

This implies,

The number of girls in Class VI is more than the number of girls in Class V.

(c) The number of girls in Class VII is 12.
