Introduction

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was a true hero in the eyes of every Indian. He was one of the members of the Indian National Congress and participated in the non-cooperation movement. Apart from that, he was also a very bright student during his educational life. He received the second position in his matriculation exam. He was selected as one of the Indian Civil Servants. He also travelled to Germany and to Japan for gathering some people to make them join the INA. He got an offer to serve for the British government after qualifying the civil services, but he refused to do so after knowing that his very own country is in trouble.

Subhas Chandra Bose was born on 23rd January 1897 at Cuttak. His father’s name was Janakinath Bose and his mother’s name was Prabhavati Bose. He was a very bright student from childhood only. After he grew up he started learning about many other holy and noble men their teachings inspired him so much that he gained an interest to study History after he passed his matriculation exam.

He took admission to the University of Calcutta for studying B.A. honors in Philosophy. He later went to England for serving the British government and he refused the offer. He returned to India after hearing about the pathetic condition that the British made during that period. Later on, for serving the nation, he joined the INC.

Subhas Chandra Bose also joined the non-cooperation movement led by Gandhiji. After seeing the drawbacks of that movement, he himself left from that movement. He strongly decided to make his own army for making the country free from the hands of the British.

Subhas Chandra Bose was a famous Indian freedom fighter who took birth on23rd January 1897. His family was one of the most privileged Bengali families in Orissa. His father was a well-known lawyer at that time.

His mother was a very religious woman. From childhood, only he was inspired by the words and teachings of many other noble people such as Swami Vivekananda and lord Ramkrishna. He had an unknown quality within him that made him a true Indian hero.

Subhas Chandra Bose was a truly selfless person who thought about nothing but the progression and freedom of his country, India. He had a strong will to serve the nation as well as the poor and needy people. He travelled to various parts of India for seeing the lifestyle of the common people. He saw that the government did not treat them properly.

This horrible scene made him very angry therefore; he made up his mind that he himself would bring independence to the country. From here, he got the concept to join the army and after getting full training, he would form his own military group that led him to form the Indian National Army or the Azad Hind Fauz.

Formation of the Indian National Army

Subhas Chandra Bose decided to form the Indian National Army in the year 1943 and included many youngsters who were passionate to join the army and serve the nation. During that year, Subhas Chandra Bose went to Singapore to form the Azad Hind Fauz.

The first person who established the INC was Rash Bihari Bose later on it was again revived by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. He included many new people who had the strong will to serve the nation by sacrificing their own lives, and this force included 43000 soldiers.

Many Japanese soldiers were also hired to join the Indian National Army (INA). He motivated each and every people in the country with his famous dialogue “Give me blood and I will give you freedom”.

The Azad Hind Fauz was firs set up by Mohan Singh but it was brought into light by Subas Chandra Bose in 1942. On 21st October 1943, he announced the formation of the AHF with commander being Chief was Mohan Singh. The main motive of the Azad Hind Fauz was to secure complete independence of the nation from the hands of the British. This force was mainly initiated during the Second World War.

The main words which described the main motto of the INA were Unity, Faith and Sacrifice. The direct origins of INA were associated with the expatriates of India from Southeast Asia which was held in March 1942.

After the conference, the league was moved for the first time to an independent state that was politically aligned with the Japanese empire. Later on, the conference was held in Bangkok where Subhas Chandra Bose was invited to grant the leadership of the AHF.
