Sanjay Garg: A Swish Fashion Designer

Sanjay Garg is a person who started his career with the design of a saree. He is one of the greatest pioneers of Saree making. He has taken the most honourable position in the field of textile making. He is a person from the upper middle and within no time, after completing his graduation he came to know that he can make a career out of fashion and textiles. That gave him hope and the great name ‘Sanjay Garg' was born and brought up.

His view on Fashion

He believed that India is a land of diversity even though we are all united by thoughts and feelings. Many religions are there to break us but there is only one thing that can make us stay together even in that bundle of differences. That is nothing but patriotism. In the same way, he thought that whatever designs were made by a person who uses the better techniques should reach the universal level. They should be in such a stage that they should be given the tag “Pan−India”. He feels that if a person wants to feel nationalistic, he should like to express himself first, he should like to think about the politic of the country, should like to focus on the growth−making factors of the country.

He compared design with an algorithm. For him, handloom design is like solving a problem. For him, giving out a beautiful design helps him develop his problem−solving skills. He said that this handloom trend is of the grandparents and we should be in such a way that we should carry that legacy of weaving and designing.

Looms and his Modification

He has started around 450 looms across his environment. But according to his experience, he started this only in the view of sarees. But the problem is, in this fast−moving modern technology very few people are wishing to wear sarees. But he felt that this should not stop him and his looms from rocking. So, he decided to create stitched garments and make good clothes and fabrics out of them. With this, he wished to make his loom−made clothes roam across the world.

His Design, His Philosophy

He said in an interview that he is a daily learner. He strongly wished to make the clothes and fabrics that are made out of his looms turn up the fashion. He added to his words that he has done very less to the industry but it has reached to many people. His loom−made clothes are almost of minimal weight. Usually, a lehenga could weigh around 15 kg. But the lehenga that is made of his loom are around 3 kgs which are around 5 times lesser than usual. His aim is constant and he has just diverted the direction of achieving that aim.

Garg Before RAW MANGO

This person has worked for the development of shades of India for many years. After that, he worked for a cluster development program in Madhya Pradesh. This mission is undertaken by the Ministry of Textiles as a prestige issue. This person was given a chance to work under that program. This program has turned his life. This program has given him a chance to fly high and this has made him explore more and more and this has made people realize his arts and designs. But he took the opportunity of working for the welfare of loom−made clothes and he took it as a privilege to upgrade the level of that textile and from then he worked with almost all kinds of weaves. He has worked with the weavers of Chanderi, Varanasi, Bengal, and various kinds of printers across India

His Work, His Love

He used to have lots of passion for the textile phase of his life. He used to collect the fashion of yesteryears and was used to get influenced by that fashion in order to get some natural ideas.

RAW−MANGO

This famous handloom industry began in the year 2008 and this has gone through several Indian states successfully. It has been established in almost all parts of India namely Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Varanasi. This company is a brand in India that is famous for its loom−made fabrics. This started when Mr. Garg got a chance to show some of his works to Jaya Jaitley. Her Reaction made him think much bigger. When he wished strongly to make this as the biggest venture, he has nothing in his hand except the support of his weavers. He borrowed a sum of 90,000 rupees from his father. The one that has the support of only the weavers at the beginning is now getting support from almost all parts of the nation.

Conclusion

many religions are there to break us but there is only one thing that can make us stay together even in that bundle of differences. That is nothing but patriotism. In this fast−moving modern technology very, few people are wishing to wear sarees.
