Course Description

PostgreSQL is the most sophisticated and widely used Open Source Relational Database in the market for business applications. Even with a huge number of concurrent users, PostgreSQL offers excellent reliability, robustness, and performance thanks to its standard compliance (ACID compliant).

Many current web frameworks, including but not limited to PHP, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Django (Python), Hibernate (Java), and many others, perform flawlessly with PostgreSQL. Websites may simply be scaled out to as many database servers as you require because of PostgreSQL's robustness and replication capabilities.

It features excellent analytical skills and a strong SQL engine, which allows for the effective processing of enormous amounts of data.

PostgreSQL, PGadmin, and SQL Online Training with Mini Project Course Overview

The premise of this course is that you have no prior knowledge of databases. Beginning with the most fundamental concept, "What is a database?" we shall go on to increasingly complex ideas (refer to course content below). In other words, if you want to learn PostgreSQL but don't even know anything about RDBMS, you've come to the perfect place! You'll adore this class.

You will also learn about 'PGadmin,' a database administrator's administrative tool, in addition to PostgreSQL. You will gain knowledge of the database communication language known as "SQL" (specific to Postgresql). You will learn about "JDBC," which is effectively glue code that enables database interaction for your application.

We are also going to create a CRUD Application by combining all the components. We will follow the MVC design pattern to do so.

I have over 11 Years of corporate experience in creating enterprise Java applications and have been teaching online/offline for over 6 years. I've contributed to many ambitious projects in the industry. Although I did not work as a Database Administrator specifically, I have used PostgreSQL as the Database solution for the projects I worked on. I have great exposure to the entire stack of Java technologies and in this course, I will fill the gaps related to the Database and specifically PostgreSQL.

Why PostgreSQL?

  • Better standard compliance to ACID properties
  • Better performance for read and write operations (Crucial for performing Data Analysis and Data Warehousing)
  • Better performance in handling complex queries
  • Better security with builtin SSL Support and communication is encrypted
  • Great support for cloud infrastructures like AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc
  • Supports NoSQL Features
  • Supports a wide range of programming languages (C, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, R, Perl, Ruby, etc..)
  • Offers a rich set of features for administration
  • Zero downtime upgrades
