Two principal vascular tissues found in plants are known as Xylem & Phloem.

The three difference between these two principal vascular tissues are:

Xylem Phloem
1. Consists mainly of dead cells. 1. Consists mainly of living cells.
2. Transport water and minerals absorbed by the roots to the other parts of the plant. 2. Conducts food manufactured in the leaves to the other parts of the plant.
3. Conduction is unidirectional means only upwards from the roots. 3. Conduction is bidirectional means both upwards and downwards from the leaves.
