Write similarities and differences between the motion of a spinning top and a boy moving to and fro a swing.

The spinning top moves around in an axis, so it is rotational motion.  A boy moving to and fro on a swing is oscillatory motion.

Similarities:

Both motions repeat after a regular interval of time. The motion that happens in a regular interval of time is called periodic action. So, both the motions are periodic.

Differences:

The difference in their motion is that one is rotational motion and the other is oscillatory motion.
