Why were the early man called hunters and gatherers?

In the Paleolithic Age, early man used to survive by hunting and gathering. At that time there were no roads, farms, or villages existed. Palaeolithic people used to move around in search of food, it was their main activity. It was the time when early humans learn which animals to hunt and which plants to eat.

They hunted buffalo, bison, wild goats, reindeer, and other animals. Along with coastal areas they did fishing. They used to gather wild nuts, berries, fruits, wild grains, and green plants.

Hunting and gathering was the way of their survival because of limited sources, that's why they were called Hunter-Gatherers.
