Why we use Element Symbol in science? Are element symbols are important when we right reactions?
A symbol is a shorthand method of naming elements so that it is convenient to write equations. Example: oxygen is written as O.
The main reasons are :
1. It was developed because using letters was the easiest way to represent the elements.
2. We use chemical symbols is to allow us to write chemical formulas easily.
A Chemical formula is a symbolic representation of a molecule’s composition.
It indicates the elements that are present in the compound and the ratio of these elements in the compound.
