Why we should not pick up caterpillars with bare hands ??

Caterpillars are cold blooded organisms.Touching them with bare hands may transfer the heat to their body which can be fatal for them . Moreover,caterpillars have thick stingy hair , which causes irritation , in some cases their body hairs can also be poisonous. The body fluid of some caterpillars are toxic and may cause allergic reactions if touched. Hence,Caterpillars should not be collected with bare hands.
