Why tungsten is used as a filament?
A filament is a thin high-resistance wire or ribbon, usually made up of tungsten, used inside an incandescent light bulb that emits light when heated by an electric current.
Due to the resistance of the filament, heat is generated in an incandescent bulb which produces light. To get light, the filament needs to reach 2700-3300K to give off white yellow light.
The reason tungsten is used as the filament in an incandescent light bulb because it has the highest melting temperature of any element at 3600K.
