Why should we take a balanced diet?
A balanced diet is a diet that contains different kinds of foods in certain quantities and proportions so that the requirement for carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and alternative nutrients is adequate so that our body can develop normally and work effectively.
A balanced diet provides the body with essential nutrition: fluid, macronutrients, micronutrients, and adequate calories.
We should take a balanced diet-
1. To prevents diseases and infections.
2. To control our weight.
3. To improve our mental health.
5. For better skin and hair.
To have a healthy, balanced diet, people should try to eat:
1. At least 5 portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables every day including base meals comprising of high fibre starchy foods like potatoes, bread, rice, or pasta.
2. Some beans, pulses, fish, eggs, meat, and other protein.
