We should conserve forests and wildlife because of the following reasons:

(i) To protect the biodiversity (comprises of various animals and plants) and maintain ecological balance.

(ii) To preserve the wildlife from extinction.

(iii) For continuing supply of oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide for purifying atmospheric air.

(iv) For maintaining the ecological balance and continuing the food web.

(v) Proper maintenance of soil quality, the continuation of the water cycle and obtaining adequate rainfall.
