Why should a magnet not to be kept near the computer?

Old computers have Floppy disk drives and CRT monitors. These devices make use of some magnetic materials for their work.

So it is advised not to keep magnet near the computer so that it does not interfere with the magnetic field of these devices.

Modern computers are safe with magnets. But very powerful magnets can still cause damage to them.
