Why plants need oxygen?


Plants need Oxygen because it uses it to do the respiration process by which plants release energy from stored sugar and produces carbon dioxide as a byproduct.

The reaction is like this:

Sugar + Oxygen  →  Carbon-dioxide + Water + Energy
