Why paddy plant require more water?

Paddy (rice plant) is a Kharif crop that is planted in the season of July-October (Summer) towards the southwest monsoon.

Rice crop requires more amount of water during irrigation as water and soil sediments assist rice plants in controlling the optimum temperature and maintain humidity in the surrounding area.

Thus, the required supply of water is very essential for the survival of paddy crops. Seeds are usually grown in a small nursery field which is then transferred to a larger paddy field upon optimum growth.
