Why has the Gangotri glacier in the Himalayas started melting?
The main reason for the melting of the Gangotri glacier is global warming which is caused by a rapid increase in industrialization, burning of fossil fuels, and deforestation. The melting of glaciers is normal but it is due to this increase in temperature that glaciers are melting more than they actually should.
