Why don't the northern hemisphere people fall in the southern hemisphere?

The shape of the Earth is almost spherical, so the gravitational field is remarkably uniform across its surface varying only in its direction which is uniformly towards its centre.

Thus, the people living in any hemisphere will only fall in the direction of gravity.
