Why do teeth come twice?

In humans, the teeth come twice, because the children have small size faces and jaws compared to adults. Thus the size of the elder teeth cannot fit in a toddler's mouth. 

While achieving the age of 10, it is believed that the size of the face is very close to the adult size, thus the big size adult teeth can be able to fit into it.
