Why solar eclipse occurs in summers?

Solar Eclipse

A solar eclipse takes place when the three astronomical bodies, namely the Sun, the Moon and the Earth align exactly or very closely together, where the moon resides between the two (sun & earth). These three align in such a way that the Moon's placement cast a shadow on parts of the Earth.

There are three types of solar eclipses.

1. Partial solar eclipse.

2. Annular solar eclipse.

3. Total solar eclipse.

The next solar eclipse will be on-

10 June 2021 - The first Solar Eclipse 2021, which will be an Annular Solar Eclipse.

4 December 2021 - The second and next Solar Eclipse 2021, will be a Total Solar Eclipse.

So, you can see that solar eclipses not only occur in summer but also in winter. Also, the eclipses are not always visible to the whole Earth.
