Why are tools meant for cutting have sharp edges?
The pressure is defined as force per unit area. Mathematically, the pressure is nothing but force divided by area.
Here the force is in the numerator and the area is the denominator
Pressure = $\frac{Force}{Area}$
Tools meant for cutting have sharp edges because they have less area of contact and therefore can apply more pressure.
