Who discovered the periodic table?
The periodic table is an arrangement of the chemical elements, organized on the basis of their atomic numbers, electron configurations and recurring chemical and physical properties.
Historians consider one event as the discovery of the modern periodic table: on February 17, 1869, a Russian professor of chemistry, Dimitri Ivanovich Mendeleev, completed the first of his numerous periodic charts, arranging chemical elements by atomic mass. He predicted the discovery of other elements and left spaces open in his periodic table for them.
