Which part of the cell contains organelles?

The cytoplasm contains organelles.

It is a highly viscous (gel-like) fluid that fills up the cells. It is enclosed by the cell membrane, except for the cell nucleus. The main components of the cytoplasm are cytosol, which consists of cell organelles like

the mitochondria, the Golgi apparatus, the endoplasmic reticulum, vacuoles, lysosomes, and in plant cells, chloroplasts.

Its function is to support and suspend organelles and cellular molecules.

Other functions of the cytoplasm include:

1. Maintain the shape of a cell.

2. Cell movement.

3. Material exchange.
