Which of the following is greater:$(-3)+(-6)$ or $(-3)-(-6)$.

Given :

The given expressions are $(-3)+(-6)$ and $(-3)-(-6)$.

To do :

We have to find which of the given expressions is greater.

Solution :

We know that,

$(+) \times (-) = (-)$

$(-) \times (-) = (+)$

LHS

$(-3)+(-6) = -3-6 = -(3+6) = -9$

RHS

$(-3)-(-6) = -3+6 = 6-3 = 3$.

Therefore,

$(-3)+(-6) < (-3)-(-6)$

Therefore, $ (-3)-(-6)$ is greater.
